Step Inside: Gull’s Way, Moat Sole
Step inside this beautifully finished Grade II listed property, Gull’s Way, a home offering modern living in a historic setting.
Gull’s Way dates back to 1832 as a former merchant’s house, overlooking the Grade II listed St Thomas’ Hospital. Set inside the original town walls, this double fronted, Regency style home is stunning both inside and out.
The four-bedroom property has come to market with Miles & Barr Exclusive Homes, the current owners have sympathetically extended and completely refurbished the interior, leaving no stone unturned to provide modern living with original features.
To the ground floor are three reception rooms, a fantastic kitchen-come-breakfast room with underfloor heating and a cloak/utility room. Heading upstairs and you will find the master bedroom, which is a superb feature of the property with its own bathroom and walk-in wardrobe.
Gull’s Way is a fine example of a period home that has been lovingly restored.

There are a further three bedrooms, one with an en-suite and a family bathroom upstairs, all of the bathrooms have the added bonus of underfloor heating.
Further notable features of Gull’s Way include sash windows, high skirting, engineered oak flooring and fireplaces. Complementing the exposed beams and log burners, the rustic-style wood stacks are a lovely addition to what is already a home filled with character. See the full listing here.
What the owners' say
“We have completely refurbished, replumbed and rewired Gull’s Way, so essentially it is a Grade II listed property, retaining many original features, while offering contemporary comfort. All of the rooms are spacious, and benefit from generous proportions, as well as being warm and inviting. The master suite would originally have been the corn and grain store and is now an impressive double height wood-panelled room.
Our family home lends itself to all seasons. In the summer Gull's Way offers a sunny, original flint walled garden, which has two patio areas. In winter we make the most of our two wood burners and underfloor heating, which make it welcoming to family and friends.
We looked for a long time to find a family home in Sandwich and were delighted and relieved to find Gull's Way, as we believe that it has so much to offer with open-plan living, a large garden, plentiful parking and garage. We have loved everything about living at Gull’s Way and know that the next occupants will find it charming too.”
